Before + After: Kitchen Relocation

This Cobble Hill townhouse underwent a major transformation when the existing small kitchen was relocated from the garden floor to the more light-filled parlor. The kitchen did not have to give up it’s outdoor access because we added a deck off the parlor floor with stairs down to the yard. The new configuration allowed a garden floor recreation room with the added warmth of the original floors,  exposed beams, and new millwork built into the historic chimney breast. The new kitchen is now more functional for the family on the parlor floor with dining towards the rear and a formal living room at the front. Both spaces are now flooded with natural light form the enlarged rear facade openings.
