The BIA Interiors design process relies on collaborating with our clients and team throughout a project. In this Brooklyn townhome, we partnered with Mason Lane Art Advisors to create our client's dream living room and kitchen.

In the living room, BIA Interiors updated the entire space - from the crown molding to the wool rug. Bold jewel tones in the leather armchair, velvet tête-à-tête, and striped bench are the perfect mix of warmth and contrast. Textured fabrics in neutral colors pull the room together, making the space feel cohesive while providing visual interest.

After we furnished the room, Mason Lane added artworks that will draw family and guests into the space. Near the window hangs a blue and gray Janna Watson with pops of warm pinks, reds, and yellows. Above the custom-upholstered striped bench, Mason Lane placed a cool toned painting by AJ Oishi. The piece perfectly offsets the bold stripes on the bench, a relationship that allows each piece to shine.

In the kitchen, we utilized the existing kitchen table and new floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors to create a light and airy informal dining space. A large, blank wall behind the table presented an opportunity for Mason Lane to select a showstopping piece to bring the room to life. The bright blue hues of the Gail Titus painting on the wall play perfectly against the warm wood of the table, perfecting the space.
