Creative Walls at the Brooklyn Preschool of Science

Design

Working with the highly energetic Carmelo the Science Fellow, we converted a challenging long, narrow space into the Cobble Hill location of the Brooklyn Preschool of Science.

The Brooklyn Preschool of Science aims to inspire students to engage with their curiosity. A science-based curriculum "taps into a child's needs to understand how things work," encouraging them to love learning from a young age.

When designing the space, we knew it had to live up to the vibrant character of the school. First, we focused on color – every classroom and the hallways are covered with bright paint. In the hallway, a rainbow lit LED wall brings light into what would otherwise be a dark corner, and the classroom behind it. In another classroom, a green planted wall by GSky Plant Systems brings a touch of life into the space.
