Celebrating Earth Day with Historic Preservation

Today we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day! The theme for Earth Day 2020 is climate action, which encourages everyone to utilize all the tools and actions available to them to make a lasting improvement on our world.

Our firm hopes to further goals of Passive House building as it is adapted to existing buildings that we are renovating. With the combination of adaptive reuse and the sustainability of Passive buildings, we hope to effect change and encourage others to do the same.

The NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission is also celebrating their 55th anniversary and is highlighting our firm's Passive House Projects in their approved adaptations from recent years. Check out their story map that tracks the thousands of designations that have protected the buildings that represent NYC's cultural, social, economic, political, and architectural history.
