This Fire Island home underwent a partial interior renovation before Hurricane Sandy caused irreparable damage to the Atlantic coastline in 2012. After FEMA regulations went into effect, we helped the Owners raise the entire home a safe distance above water level, which required twelve foot long pile foundations that were drilled six feet into the ground. The entire house was lifted into the air while the piles were placed below it. Now, the home showcases its Nana wall, sun porch, and open kitchen from a safe height above the flood plane.
