Ground Breaking Ceremony for Highland Passive House

Events

It was exciting to be a part of the Ground Breaking Ceremony for the Highland Passive House. This beautiful multi-use building will be the first multi-use passive warehouse in North America, pursuing Net-Zero energy, carbon neutrality, and Passive House Plus certification.

The entire team has been incredible along this journey, including Cathy Hobbs – whose vision, creativity, and perseverance made this project happen. Khattar Elmassalemah of Praetorius and Conrad Engineering has been an incredible collaborator on all aspects of the project, including what will be a beautiful site plan. Bob Divilio from RJD Engineering brought his Passive House knowledge to the table, ensuring that the mechanicals work with the high-performance building design. John Mitchell of bldgtyp has been an essential team member, marrying the Ecocor prefab panels and the on-site built elements. It has been a true pleasure to collaborate with Baxter on both the planning and the implementation of this incredible building.

Finally, NYSERDA continues to make us all happy that we are in New York. The Carbon Neutral Economic Development program has been one of the key elements to make this building possible, and will continue to be a wonderful way to share the details and specifications for others to follow.
