Party Spaces - Part IV

Design

This Cobble Hill Historic District home is a perfect place to celebrate with friends and family. This Thanksgiving, we're grateful for clients who collaborate with us throughout their project, leading to highly custom, creative designs. The owners of this home were no exception.

The townhouse came to us relatively intact, with an already grand existing parlor. Our clients wanted to connect this parlor with the rest of the first floor. Opening up the parlor level and connecting it to the rear yard created the perfect space to entertain friends and family.

Fostering a strong indoor/outdoor relationship was important to transform the space. We enlarged the rear openings, adding French doors to the rear yard on both the garden and parlor levels, and added a bay window to the parlor-level kitchen. A new staircase connects the parlor-level rear deck to the yard below.

On the interior, an open concept floorplan allowed us to connect the previously separate living room, dining room, and kitchen. New wood floors help to seamlessly connect the three areas. Meanwhile, light wood cabinetry and warm furnishings make the finished space the perfect spot for hosting festivities!
