Leaded Glass at the Brooklyn Heights Designer Showhouse

BIA Interiors Design Material Highlights

The artistic nature of leaded glass lends itself to both modern and traditional houses. The Brooklyn Heights Designer Showhouse was an excellent opportunity for BIA Interiors to continue to work with one of our favorite artisans, Brooklyn-based Sunburst Studio.

The leaded glass inset into the wet bar millwork balances the modern form and function of the open kitchen. Using decorative glass is a nod to the historic etched-glass, parlor-facing double pocket doors that were original to the townhouse. We created an artistic interpretation that married traditional leaded glass and modern features and motifs that appear throughout the kitchen. Clear and frosted textured glass shape the rigid rectangular forms. Meanwhile, iridescent glass makes up the circular motifs that carry throughout the space. Accents of the iridescent glass are also found in some of the accessories, giving a little sparkle and incorporating subtle shimmers of pinks, blues, and greens to the space and the leaded glass.

Make sure to see the Showhouse at 145 Columbia Heights in person before it closes October 30th. Get tickets here!
